Things are changing here fast While I can buy most of the items here, I am not doing so because it's a bad idea to buy everything

Hardware

• $49.99 : Left 4 Dead in Steam. I am not going to play pirated version, as this is cooperative game. So I have to be patient
• ~$85 : 1 Gbit SOHO router - TRENDnet TEW-633GR / D-Link DIR-655/855 - don't like to have my server routing home networks D-Link DGL-4500 FTW!
• ~$250 : Phenom II x4 processor, middle of the line, when it would be released. Obsolete, it appeared to be too slooooow.
• $539 and get's cheaper every day Intel X25-M SSD drive. Obsolete, got nice RAID-0 of OCZ Vertex-es
• Intel i9 6-core CPU or overclockable i7 - the only thing I can trade my E8400 @3.86Ghz
• 6*4Gb of RAM - while I am still fine with 8Gb, I always liked 4Gb modules
• 3rd generation SSD 250Gb*5 for RAID-5 - I guess this would cost insane money till 2011-2012
• Upgrade 3x1Tb RAID5 to 6x1Tb RAID6 in home server
• USB 3.0 PCI-E controller
• USB 3.0 flash drive, 30-40 Mb/sec write and faster

Photo

• Sigma Sony 30mm/F1.4 or other 28-35mm F1.4 lens.
• Get a macro flash
• Get a decent flash for Sony camera

Tech

• solid state lasers, green and shorter wavelength, 100mW and higher.
• solid state lasers, IR and red, 1W and higher.
• gas or pulse lasers.
• Black light UV lamp
• Germicidal UV lamp
• 1000FPS slow-mo cam. Probably just wanna play with it, I would rarely need one.
• Build a computer projector out of overhead projector & LCD monitor
• Build a laser link thing, 1mbit and higher.
• Build radio transceiver.

Physics & Chemistry

• See huge conventional explosion.
• See nuclear explosion, hopefully not in my city.
• Play around with liquid nitrogen, magnets and superconductors.
• Dissolve a water at home, fill a balloon with hydrogen. (My first tries in childhood were pretty stupid - why using salt, when sodium is much safer. I was really worried about Chlorine, and it stinks )
• Do an autogenous welding using hydrogen+oxygen from electrolysis
• Synthesize Sulfuric acid at home That was pretty hard to hide the process from parents at the age of 10

Actions

• Read some interesting presentation at some conference. I should be happy that I do not afraid public speeches
• Ride speed train in Germany. 300Km/h in Hong-Kong was way too slow
• Visit an Airshow (like MAKS)
• Visit restaurant at Ostankino tower
• Visit Japan with a friend from Japan, which I don't have.
