Problem: clean 1200C oven

In order to perform gate oxide forming, one need furnace able to get to 1000-1200C. Off-the-shelf furnaces are expensive and bulky. Also, trying to avoid open fire, as it's not clean & a bit dangerous. I am thinking about using 4-8 x 500W halogen lamps with tiny parabolic reflectors to focus all the...

Problem: easier metallization

One of the most difficult problem is IC metallization. I see the following ways: 1. vacuum evaporation of Al, then etching it away or using lift-off lithography 2. vacuum evaporation of Cu, then etching it away or using lift-off lithography 3. Using photo-sensitive Ag-compounds - but they does not f...

Thanks BarsMonster. I hadn't actually heard about this unlocking of 6950. If I had it might have saved me some on buying these cards :) Do you have a link? Simple as that: http://www.google.ru/search?q=unlock+6950&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:ru:official&client=firefox Basically, you just...

Love this lovely red-black color :-) I've just got ASUS 6950.
Have you considered getting 6950 @ unlocking it?

Re: Programming on ATI, whats the lowest level language?

I'm a little confused, if someone wants to program on ATI graphics cards what is the lowest level language to use and what tools to do it? Is opencl if you wish to add cpu computation to the program? I heard brook isnt used anymore, so is it ATI stream? Does visual studio support ATI stream like it...

128Gb is free out of 2883... Doh...
I remember the good old days of 850Mb HDDs...

i'm a little curious, if you will, what was the complexity and danger you ran into? and where has your interest shifted to? The complexity & danger - is due to risks to help someone to violate the laws, especuially if you do this for money - you may be liable. I am working in several directions now...

However I am pretty sure that undervolting is more effective than underclocking. My preliminary tests so far show that decreasing the core frequency of one of my 5970s from 725MHz to 550MHz with aticonfig decreases performance by 24% while only decreasing power consumption by 18%: 22.1A@12V down to...

Re: 33.1 billion hash/sec

Just a few thoughts: The lower GPU clock/voltage, the moar GFLOP/W you get.
That's why dual-chip GPU rock so hard: due to lower clock AND voltage each operation costs less energy.

My tests shows that on half the clock you spend 5 times less power per operation.
