Try this, disable SLi and PhysX in the Nvida control panel then reboot. Then add the "LimitVideoPresentSources" to your registry you can read more about "LimitVideoPresentSources" by doing some google searches. Since you don't have a monitor output for each of your video cards this looks like your only option if you are going to use Win 7.

Some forums that may be able to help you out is -

Also cuda-z maybe able to give you some more infomation when it comes to cuda - http://cuda-z.sourceforge.net/

Here is my config:

I was able to extend display on 8400gs even without monitor attached, not sure how . I moved virtual screen so that I woulnt get there with my mouse :-)

I guess it's only possible with nVidia's GPUs as they in fact can work without monitor attached if PhysX mode selected. While ATI GPUs always requires monitor (and I'm trying to use 4770+4850 setup with Win7). I doubt it'll possible to use 8400 as main GPU and extend desktop to 4870.

Then add the "LimitVideoPresentSources" to your registry you can read more about "LimitVideoPresentSources" by doing some google searches.
Unfortunately after google search I realized that other people with windows 7 have similar problems and there is no registry tweak you can do yet. These modifications are for Vista. I was thinking using VMware to install Vista and try but I am not sure if through a virtual machine I can utilize the GPUs.

I also used an external hard disk I have and installed Ubuntu 9.04 64bit and managed to activate the drivers in SLI mode, I was able to compile code using CUDA SDK but when I run the .deviceQuery reported that there was no device supporting CUDA!!! Through forum search, I found out that similar issues of other people are still unresolved, so I gave up.

No that option is not yet avaliable for vmware, oh though I've heard talks that they are trying to support it.

Sounds like XP is going to be your only way to get it working.

I updated the beta drivers 195.39 with a modified info to recognize my cards and now the program recognizes both GPUs. The new problem is that when I stop the program the screen goes black and the system hangs up.
Reboot won't resolve the problem. The only solution is to go Safe Mode and uninstall all the drivers, then go normal and install everything again....

So it's a driver issue that I hope NVIDIA will eventually fix it

At least it works...
oh I think this is the first laptop to brake the barrier of the 1 Ghash/sec
I am not sure if someone else did that before me using his laptop

The next step is to overclock the GPUs and see the limits of this machine 8-)

Can it work stable for 30 minutes?an hour? 3 hours ?
Also, can you provide the temperature of GPU cores after some time of running the cracker ?
GZ with personal record ;)

I tested it for an hour, very stable. I was running HWmonitor and CPU-Z at the same time
The temperatures of the CPU were average 82 degrees Celcius and for the GPUs 62C
The bridge on the other side reached 91 C !!! but it was within the acceptable limits and stable for the whole period of the test
I don't use extra cooling and the temperature of the room is 26 C approximately, maybe more

It can run stable for days if the temperature of the room stays within acceptable limits

And a test with the latest version of BarsWF
The temperatures are much lower this time

CPU cores look kind of hot for notebooks, but the GPU is somewhat good.Indeed, quite cool for a notebook. Is the fan noise disturbing when you run BarsWF for at least 5 min ?

Can you check GPU's temperatures with GPU-Z?It will probably give the t. for both cores...

Anyways, that's really nice results for notebook. In terms of heat dissipation.

Considering the amount of fans this laptop has, the noise is quite disturbing, but also a necessary evil.
The GPU's fans run at medium speed which means that I can overclock the GPUs and the system can handle the heat pretty well.
I did use the GPU-Z for the temps and it indicated 2 degrees difference between the two GPUs. HWMonitor shows only one GPU because the SLI is disabled but no difference in the temperatures between those 2 programs

The next step is to enable the integrated GPU to add a few MHashes/sec + to overclock the two GTXs and see how high they can reach
