Serious bug (?) in BarsWF v0.B

Hi,
today i just got an old 8600GTS for experimenting with cuda and BarsWF :)

I generated a test hash from a 8 len random password

Code: Select all

qk4cjzvg:0d79bb01422daff7da7e0587b4b52a25
and then i gave it to BarsWF v0.B with this command line:

Code: Select all

barswf_cuda_x32.exe -c 0a -h 0d79bb01422daff7da7e0587b4b52a25 --min_len 8
but the key was not found after searching all possible 8len [a-z][0-9] password combinations!
I repeated this 3 time with the same result.

I tried with v0.8 and this is result:

So v0.8 works well for me and v0.B does NOT!!! :wall:
neither this works with v0.B (with v0.8 is ok) ci0ociao:e521b09ccf6cf94182f925b70a524c2e

I tried another 8 len password containing only a-z and no digits [0-9]..and this time v0.B cracked it:

So.. seems v0.B doesn't like some kind of password (at least on my PC).

Can anybody confirm this bug making my same test with v0.B and posting here the result?

My configuration: Intel Core2Duo E2180 + 8600GTS (no overclock for both cpu and gpu).
Latest driver from nvidia (266.58)

Thanks

Doooooh, this is so sad :-)
But now you have a chance to get the sources and debug it yourself :-D
If I would have time, I'll try to reproduce myself today in the night.

I just tried it, and BarsWF CUDA x32 0.B cracked all the hashes above flawlessly! My system: Phenom II X6 1090T + GeForce GTX 580 (Avg. Total is about 2000 MHash/sec) with driver 266.58, on Windows XP 32-bit.
