Some news about the project

I've hired 1 developer to work exclusively on implementation & guided optimization of new algorithms. His(actually her ) first task is SHA1 implementation :-)

well well, things are getting serious :)
is she going to join this forum as well?

Probably a bit later, also not sure if she know English :-)

but she's for sure a great coder we guess if it's about algorithms optimization ;)

Hey!
How's the project going?

Will you implement support for saled MD5-hashes?
Because that would be really awesome! :)

Actually, i came across this site using google, and i've just finished a SHA1 and MYSQL hash cracker in CUDA. I'm working on an sse2 implementation atm.

The source, and binaries are available at the governmentsecurity.org topic:

http://www.governmentsecurity.org/forum ... ntry200891

Once i have time (next week), i'll try to optimize it a bit more, and add sse2 support. After that im looking to add a p2p architecture. (think freerainbowtables)

Feel free to use this code in a non commercial app,

Cheers:P

About the project - distributed network server is working, so it is coming.

I afraid to give any timeframes :-) I have 3 commercial projects competing for my time with free barswf

Isn't that always the problem? Bills coming before play? I've run into that as well. :(

Well, that's not about current bills in my case :-)
It's last months before offshore development shutdown in exUSSR (in the worst case), so we should prepare for that :-)
Then there would be less commercial work and more time for personal projects

Yeah, I'm pessimist :-)

Offshore commercial development shutdown?

What does that consist of? That's not a familiar term.

meaning he fears to loose his job.

I mean "Cash flow from US to exUSSR for offshore software development is going to drop very fast".

Reasons are:
1) More and more companies in US have no money for cancer-like expansion.
2) US dollar gets cheaper, and here we may see Zimbabwe like inflation if US $ would loose world reserve currency function.
3) Expenses on good developers in exUSSR became comparable to the US ones. Not like in early 199x, when US guys had 5K$/month before taxes, and exUSSR ones had 100$/month :-) So if dollar gets twice cheaper, it would not be cost-effective to work with money-hungry exUSSR developers   .

Make it open source and all the work will be done for you! :joy:

Can u give us a time frame for the implemention of a wordlist? Best with mutator rules (brineyspears -> britneyspears5218)?

A hash list can be easy done with batch files / simple coding around barswf

No, it cannot be done this way. Generating key on CPU is slower than checking it on GPU.
This is not in top-3 priorities in BarsWF, so you should not expect it... let's say till summer

The primary problem is that pretty much everyone doing CUDA work right now has been poached by companies for various jobs - I believe pretty much all the non-company-aligned CUDA hash cracking types or CUDA rainbow table types all have full time jobs.

The API is out there... get coding! :D
