Just to keep track current status:
- Compilation server, AMD port : Work in progress, deadline end of October
- Site design WIP
- Logo design WIP
- Project name vote
- Server side implementation, protocol development WIP
- Dummy client development (to test everything before BarsWF core is ready) WIP
- BarsWF changes for distributed work
- Server: going to be on my shared host. If hoster would complain for high load, I'll move to VPS, and if there would be any performance problems - to dedicated server.
- Linux/MacOS port
- Linux/MacOS automated build process
So if nothing would go wrong

, it should run 31th of October with MD5-only.

you'd better ask your hoster if that is ok

you'll create a shitload of traffic and you'll need a good connection to handle all the requests.
freerainbowtables.com for example is nearly not reachable right now...

The bandwidth for a distributed brute forcer is much less than the bandwidth for a distributed rainbow table generator. The distributed brute forcer is about the same as using AJAX to check if a user name is taken once every 10 minutes per client. The distributed rainbow table generator is about the same as uploading 2-4 high res pictures every 30-60 minutes per client.

That's right. I expect 1mb per client per day, and ~100-300 requests per client per day.

You know, this happens all the time with deadlines

But I must admit there was more fun with AMD than I was expecting
